One week, 54 changes, and most of them are about whether you can trust the numbers in front of you. A bank that quietly stops sending data is now caught and named, Reconnect and Sync now tell you whether they worked, and the categorizer no longer files a coffee shop as a bank fee. The new feature is for anyone paid partly in stock: add your RSU grants and every vest lands in your history and your income on the day it happens.
Highlights
- NewAccounts
Equity grants
On a stock plan account you can now add your RSU grants: the ticker, the share count, the vesting schedule and cliff, and what is withheld for tax. Each vest posts on its day as wages, with the withheld shares counted as tax and the rest arriving in the account, so the account's history reaches back to your first vest. The card shows what has vested, the next vest and roughly what it is worth, and keeps unvested shares out of your totals.
- NewAccounts
A bank that stops updating is caught
When a connection has not brought anything new in over two days, the bank gets a Not updating badge on the accounts page, its own page and Settings, and a to-do on the dashboard with Sync now right there. It also tells the two causes apart: our syncs failing, which Sync now fixes, or your bank no longer answering, which usually clears on its own and where Reconnect is the lever if it does not.
- ImprovedAccounts
Reconnect fixes the bank you reconnected, and says so
Every Reconnect button now repairs and syncs only the bank you picked, then tells you the outcome: repaired, reconnected but the bank is still not sending data, or reconnected but the first sync failed. Banks that send you to their own site to sign in come back finished instead of saying the link had expired, and the dashboard to-do reconnects in place.
- ImprovedTransactions
Categories match whole words
Automatic categorizing used to match fragments, so a coffee shop could land in bank fees and a rental car in rent. Keywords and the merchants it learns from your corrections now match only whole words, it learns the name of who was paid rather than the payment network, and transactions it had misfiled went back to be filed again.
Accounts and banks
Sync now tells the truth
ImprovedAccountsSync now used to say Sync complete even when a bank did not answer. It now turns red when a sync fails, and says when the sync worked but your bank still has nothing new. A bank's menu on the accounts page syncs only that bank, and offers Reconnect only when an expired sign-in is the cause.
Categories on an account's activity
ImprovedAccountsThe activity list on an account's page, a card's charges or a checking account's spending, shows each entry's category the same way the Transactions list does.
Assistant
Ask the assistant to sync a bank
NewAssistantThe assistant can now sync a bank that has stopped updating, once you approve it, instead of only pointing you at the button. If the sign-in has expired it says so and offers the way out, and it no longer calls a sync that brought back old data a fix.
The assistant knows your stock grants
NewAssistantIt can read your equity grants and propose a new one for you to approve, the same as adding it from the account page.
For developers
Equity grants in the API
NewAPIThe public API and its MCP tools can list, read, create and delete equity grants.
Why a bank is stale, in the API
ImprovedAPIBank connections and institutions in the public API now say whether a connection is stale, why, and when the bank last answered.
Help
A guide to categorizing
NewHelpA new help article covers changing one transaction's category, moving several at once, and filing a merchant's future charges from its counterparty page or an automation.
Fixed
Income stays income
FixedTransactionsA deposit whose description held a word like FEE or RENT could be filed as spending, so some paychecks and payouts were counted as expenses. A category can no longer cross from income to spending or back, and the deposits it had misfiled were sent back to be filed on the right side.
Loan suggestions from your bank appear again
FixedDebtsA mortgage your bank reported with a rate but no payment stopped every loan in that ledger from being suggested. That mortgage is now skipped and the rest are suggested as before.
