Product Designer

Make double-entry accounting feel like the most obvious thing in the world.

About the role

Our hardest design problem is that the truth underneath is rigorous and most people have never been taught it. A journal entry is the honest representation; a card that says 'you spent $61 on groceries' is the useful one. The craft is holding both without lying in either direction.

You would design across the product, own the design system with the engineers who enforce it, and have your work in front of real people in days rather than quarters.

What you would do

  • Design end-to-end flows, including the states nobody screenshots.
  • Extend a token-based design system rather than drawing outside it.
  • Prototype motion and interaction, not just static frames.
  • Sit with customers often enough that you argue from evidence.

What we look for

  • A portfolio of shipped consumer product work with your reasoning visible.
  • Fluency with design systems, type and spacing at a level that survives a 2x screen.
  • Comfortable in the codebase to the extent of reading it.

Nice to have, never required

  • Fintech, or any domain where a wrong number has consequences.
  • You can build a working prototype yourself.

If you are on the fence

Every list above describes the person we imagine, not a checklist we score. People who meet most of it and want the rest have done extremely well here. If the role reads like the job you want next, that is enough reason to write to us — tell us which part you would have to grow into and we will be straight with you about whether it works.
